Enlisted on 5 Oct 1861, age 18, Company I, Mass. 27th Infantry Regiment; Private, Discharged 23 June 1863

George Edward Pepper: Gran’s 2nd Great-Grand Uncle
Enlisted into the Union Army on 19 Jul 1862 at age 27. He enlisted in Company E, Massachusetts 36th Infantry Regiment on 27 Aug 1862. Mustered out on 08 Jun 1865 at Alexandria, VA.4
